Lipsync Ravi Shastri 36 Ads Cricket 9 Languages

Challenge

Four gully-cricket films built on Ravi Shastri’s rapid-fire commentary and a set of gloriously made-up street rules — all needing flawless lip-sync across 9 regional languages.

Britannia 50-50 Golmaal leans into the chaos of gully cricket, where the sweet-and-spicy fusion of the biscuit meets matches governed by absurd, invented laws: Rule 17, where Shastri warns “roses are red, violets are blue, pay the ball money or you’re out”; Rule 31, where one bounce is out but two bounces is a six; and the shameless Kachha Limbu Law that bends every rule to rescue a losing team. Holding it together is former cricketer Ravi Shastri, bringing his iconic commentary and chaotic coaching energy — a face and voice millions recognise instantly, which is exactly what made the localisation hard. The comedy lives in his delivery and timing, so every punchline and every commentator’s flourish had to land just as sharply in a new language, with the mouth matching the words frame-for-frame. Four spots × 9 languages = 36 individual outputs, each expected to carry the same Golmaal energy as the Hindi original.

Four films · one spirit

Comedy that
survives the dub.

The whole joke rides on delivery — Shastri’s commentary cadence, the beat before an absurd rule is announced, the eruption when it’s enforced. Lip-sync that flattens that timing kills the gag.

Across all four Golmaal spots we protected the performance: reactions, celebrations and Shastri’s signature gestures left untouched, with the mouth re-synced only where dialogue lands. The result keeps the trademark 50-50 humour — rules and all — intact in Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, English, Bengali, Punjabi and Malayalam: nine native cuts that still feel like the same gag.

Solution

We employed protected-section processing, maintaining the original performance quality in non-speaking sections (celebrations, reactions, body language) while precisely syncing only the mouth regions during dialogue. This preserved the authentic cricket excitement while transforming the language naturally.

Each of the 36 outputs underwent individual quality testing, comparing energy levels, comedic timing, and lip-sync accuracy against the original. The 9 regional languages covered Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, English, Bengali, Punjabi, and Malayalam. All 36 versions were delivered broadcast-ready, maintaining the trademark Golmaal energy across every language.

All four spots were shot once in Hindi. Regional artists dubbed each script, and we re-synced every mouth frame-by-frame to the new audio. Pick a film, pick a language, then drag the slider to compare the original against our lip-synced output.
